Why Study MSE at the University of Arizona?

The guiding principle of the department of MSE is setting students up for success. The department offers a variety of unique academic opportunities in the classroom and in laboratories. Through a workforce-ready curriculum designed for breadth, depth and flexibility, the department prepares students for life-long learning and professional development.

The undergraduate student to faculty ratio is low (5.4), ensuring individual attention at all stages of a student's academic career. Undergraduate students enjoy a learning environment with desirable class sizes and close interactions with faculty members with world-class reputations who are also committed to excellence in undergraduate education.

The unique attributes and quality of the MSE B.S. program have led Intel Corporation to partner with the department to establish an MSE B.S. online degree program. It involves joint courses (technical electives) with Intel College of Engineering as well as core courses at the University of Arizona. The program is designed to enable Intel technical personnel worldwide to study toward an engineering degree in Materialsl Science and Engineering.
